The Justice Reform Initiative has produced a series of briefing papers that overview the key issues for particular over-represented groups in the justice system and unpack common misconceptions about crime and imprisonment. These papers explore the factors that result in the over-incarceration of some populations; provide a snapshot of the relevant data; and outline alternative approaches that reduce the use of imprisonment and bolster community safety.
