About the Reintegration Puzzle Conference

The conference was brilliantly hosted by Deakin University for twenty years. In 2023, Deakin invited the Justice Reform Initiative to establish a new home for the conference, and from 2024, we are delighted to be the new hosts. We also honour the extraordinary legacy of Professor Joe Graffam (also a JRI patron) who established the conference in 2004 and whose vision for collaboration, and for bringing together people with lived expertise of the justice system, practitioners and researchers has created such a remarkable, welcoming and unique event. The 17th Reintegration Puzzle Conference presented by the Justice Reform Initiative was held in 2024 in June in Sydney.
