Annie Barker | Executive and Operations Support Coordinator

Annie joined the Justice Reform Initiative in January 2025 as the Executive and Operations Support Coordinator. She plays an integral role in the effective day to day operations of the organisation, assists the Executive Director and provides governance support to the Board of Directors.

Annie has a background in supporting executive teams in the social justice sector. Most recently Annie was the Executive Assistant (EA) for the Justice and Equity Centre (JEC, previously the Public Interest Advocacy Centre), primarily supporting the management and executive teams, the Board of Directors and Committees. Annie also played a key role in developing and delivering the Human Resources function for the JEC.

Prior to joining the JEC, Annie was the EA with ID. Know Yourself (IDKY), an Aboriginal led mentoring program working with Aboriginal young people in care and in an earlier role, she supported the executive team and sub committee at knowmore legal service, an independent legal service providing information and advice to survivors of institutional child sexual abuse.

In her earlier career, Annie worked as a recruitment specialist for NGO Recruitment. Organisations committed to social justice, engaged Annie to recruit executive and operational roles as well as projects for funded programs. Annie participates in and provides voluntary support for causes that seek to protect human rights.
